|Greetings from the President|
As we look forward to the Holiday Season and to the coming of the New Millennium, we are also celebrating the first anniversary of the release of MEFiSTo-2D. Many teachers, students and professionals around the world have adopted and thoroughly test-driven our simulator. We have listened to their suggestions, noted their comments, and compiled their wish lists. As a result we will release the next, much improved version of MEFiSTo early next year. Please watch for our announcement in the coming weeks.
In this newsletter we feature another of our prominent customers, Professor Wolfgang Menzel of the University of Ulm. Known internationally for his pioneering developments in the areas of microwave and millimeter-wave antennas and components, interconnects, and wireless communication technology, Professor Menzel has addressed IEEE Chapters around the world as a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society. We are proud to present Professor Menzel's report on his use of MEFiSTo-2D in his classes.
Our Simulation Corner focuses on a small feature of MEFiSTo-2D with a BIG impact on modeling accuracy: the corner node. Find out how you can dramatically improve your simulation results for structures with electric field singularities, without the need for tedious and expensive mesh refinement or extrapolation. You can download all files used to generate the data in the Simulation Corner and run them yourself with MEFiSTo or the MEFiSTo Demo.
We will contact you again soon with a Special Announcement regarding the release of the new MEFiSTo version. In the meantime I wish you, on behalf of the Faustus Team, a wonderful festive season and a great start into the Year 2000.Sincerely Yours
Wolfgang J.R. Hoefer
